That story about people smashing cuckoo clocks because they thought they were possessed is a great reminder of how humans react to unfamiliar tech. Same with the first phonographs, radios, or even mirrors in certain places—if it startled or challenged what people thought was “normal,” the first response was often fear or superstition.
